Poker Player Profiles

We feature poker player profiles of the of the best names in poker.  These players have made a name for themselves by either consistently winning or by winning some of the major events.

The poker player profiles we list here are living legends.

Johnny Chan "The Orient Express"

Johnny Chan is only 1 of 2 poker players to have won the world series of poker back to back in 1987 and 1988.  He nearly won 3 times in a row though he finished 2nd in 1989 losing to Phil Hellmuth.  He was immortalized in the movie Rounders where he played himself as the top poker player in the world.

Phil Ivey "The Tiger Woods of Poker"

Phil Ivey became a poker pro shortly after turning 21.  Phil Ivey is a quiet player that always stays very focused on his game.  He is one of the best poker players in the world.  He has won 5 WSOP braclets and seem to make it deep into every large tournament he plays.

Greg Raymer ("Fossilman")

Greg Raymer is known best for being the 2004 World Series of Poker champion.  His nickname "Fossilman" comes from the fossils he uses to protect his cards at the table.  Greg earned his way to the WSOP by winning a satellite at PokerStars.  He defeated a large field of 2576 players.  The following year he came in 56th in a field of 5600 players where he took a bad beat that knocked him out of the tournament.  Greg Raymer has also won over $200,000 in an online poker tournament in 2006.
